About Us

Mendocino Dance Project explores the human experience and our relationship to nature through the rich language of dance, enriching the cultural landscape of Mendocino County through performances, education, and community engagement. It is our belief that professional and culturally relevant opportunities to engage in the arts show be available to anyone and should not be determined by geographical location or cost.

Your donation helps to ensure the longevity of our programs in the community.

OUR CORE PROGRAMS

Vertical Dance In The Redwoods: We offer workshops, summer camps and performances where, through dance, we deepen our connection to nature and explore  our relationship to the environment.

Dance For People With Parkinson's Disease: We offer free dance classes at Redwood Studio in Fort Bragg. Classes are open to anyone living with Parkinson's Disease, their family members and caregivers. Our dance classes are more than an exercise class, but offer a necessary support system for people living with Parkinson's on the North Coast.

Creative Movement In Schools: We have been offering dance and creative movement programming in local schools since 2016. Students learn about the body, spatial awareness, musicality, coordination, and how to express through the body in positive and empowering ways.

Community Performances: We produce original shows that bring audiences together around art, story, and shared humanity. Our theater performances tour to rural communities throughout Northern California, bringing inspired performances to areas with little access to the arts.

We are a 501c3 non-profit arts organization located on the Mendocino Coast in Northern California. Your donation is tax deductible and we appreciate your support.
